This concerns me a bit: DxDiag Previously: Crashed in DirectShow (stage 1). If the post is not detailed enough, please let me know. I'm going to run a memtest tonight, and tomorrow I'll replace the thermal paste on my CPU. What I've done so far: EVGA Geforce 460 GTX i7 920, 2.67ghz (not overclocked) ASUS P6T motherboard 6GB DDR3 RAM Windows 7 Pro 64bit Added additional cooling to my PC Switched from a HD 4870 to a 460 GTX (clean install of drivers) Reinstalled WoW Swapped WoW to a new hard drive Switched from a 750w PSU to a 950w Disabled and deleted all addons Altered just about every setting in the game Disabled AA in the Nvidia CP Defrag, anti-virus scans (MBam, Hitman and Avast) Reinstalled Direct X Reinstalled graphics card drivers Various WoW text-based config settings Benchmarked my computer and compared to others (perfectly fine) Countless other suggested methods for various FPS related issues The only pieces of hardware which have not been replaced are my CPU, motherboard and RAM. I've tried everything within my knowledge to fix this, but it just continues to happen. Excessive camera movement does seem to emulate it, but only upon first moving the camera when entering a new zone, or logging in. This issue has persisted since I started playing again back in mid 2009. Just about any event can trigger the spike, yet I can't consitently emulate it. Anything from a message on the screen announcing "xx has been caputed by the Alliance" can trigger the spikes, people joining the raid group, people being killed - the list goes on. It's much more prevalent in 25 man raids and 40 man Battlegrounds. The game is a nightmare to play, as it doesn't necessarily feel like low FPS, just constant spikes. My FPS will drop by roughly 10-15 for a second, and then be fine for a second or two, and then it'll spike again. Hi, The issue I'm having is that I receive very small FPS spikes (although very consistent) in any 'group' enviornment.
